National Export Strategy Development
Overview
Developed a comprehensive five-year national export strategy for an East African government, covering 8 priority sectors and trade facilitation reforms.
Client Objective
The Ministry of Trade and Industry required a data-driven national export strategy to diversify the country's export base and improve competitiveness in regional and international markets.
Execution Strategy
Our team conducted a 12-week research and consultation process including stakeholder workshops with 200+ private sector representatives, analysis of trade data across 8 priority sectors, benchmarking against 5 peer countries, and policy gap analysis. The strategy was developed through a participatory approach involving government, private sector, and development partners.
Results & Impact
The final strategy was adopted by Cabinet and launched at a national event attended by the Head of State. Implementation in the first year led to a 15% increase in non-traditional exports and the establishment of 3 new trade desks in key markets.
